Kim Holbrook
Assistant Director
Kim plays an essential role in supporting both the programs and day-to-day operations of the Foundation, helping ensure that everything runs smoothly and effectively so our mission can thrive. Her work behind the scenes is marked by a combination of careful attention to detail, organizational skill, and genuine care for the people and programs she supports.
She is a unique blend of compassion and competence, bringing both warmth and professionalism to every task she undertakes. Many in our community know Kim from her decade of teaching at First Presbyterian Preschool, as well as her years of dedicated volunteer service with Hickory Public Schools. She holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from Appalachian State University.
Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Kim treasures time spent with her family. She enjoys cheering on her son Will as he plays trombone in the NC State Marching Band, supporting her son John on the basketball court at UNC Chapel Hill, and sharing life with her husband, Guy. Faith, family, and friends are central to her life, guiding her values and inspiring the care she brings to everything she does.
Dawn Hayden Conner, MBA
Director of Donor Engagement
Dawn serves as an ambassador for the Foundation, cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors and partners to advance the mission of the organization.
She is passionate about helping others and building relationships. Many people in our community recognize Dawn as being one of the familiar faces representing Safe Harbor. Prior to joining the nonprofit sector Dawn held various top medical sales positions for corporations such as LabCorp, DIANON, Genzyme Genetics, and Encompass Home Health, as well as being an independent Healthcare Consultant for a few startup medical companies.
She is originally from Baltimore and still loves the hometown teams (Orioles & Ravens). Dawn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. After leaving Baltimore, Dawn received her MBA from Pfeiffer University while living in Charlotte.
She enjoys spending quality time with her husband Patrick, her children, Hayden and Delaney, and her close family and friends. She enjoys watching sports, traveling, reading, and coordinating fun game nights. She always strives to follow her beloved mother’s motto in life, “Keep Smiling & Laughing!”
Victoria Schronce
Strong Student Leader Program Director
Victoria provides leadership to our programs and is the face of the Foundation in the community.
She is full of passion and love for the people of her community. She attended Appalachian State and Liberty University. Her professional career has centered on growing people to reach their full God-given potential. She started off as a teacher, helped start-up a business and worked as a life coach for college athletes. She loves grabbing coffee with old and new friends, visiting new places, and most of all living life with her husband, Ethan and her son, Roman!
Aasia McNeill
Strong Student Leader Program Assistant Director
Aasia leads and manages the Strong Student Leader program at designated high schools, overseeing weekly sessions, supporting volunteer mentors, fostering strong relationships with school staff, and ensuring student engagement and success.
Aasia is passionate about leadership and creating a positive impact in her community. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, concentrating in Business, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Leadership. A former collegiate athlete, Aasia played volleyball for five years—beginning at Catawba Valley Community College and completing her career at Lenoir-Rhyne. Today, she continues to invest in the next generation as a high school volleyball coach. She is excited to bring her experience, energy, and heart for students and leadership to the Strong Student Leader Program.
Shauna Cook
Strong Student Leader Volunteer Coordinator
Shauna plays a vital role in organizing and supporting our dedicated volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared, encouraged, and confident as they pour into the lives of students. She works to create an environment where volunteers feel valued and equipped to make a meaningful impact, recognizing that their service is at the heart of our mission.
Shauna brings both professional expertise and a heart for serving her community. She is a proud mom of two and the owner of Stoic Private Wealth, where she helps individuals and families steward their resources well.
