One of the most important tasks of a leader is to bring people together. An effective leader helps lots of different people work together for a common vision, a common goal, and the common good.
In a world where it’s far too easy to be divisive, polarized, and at odds, we need leadership that unites. This is why this year’s leadership conference theme is “Leadership United.”
The 2025 Catawba Valley Leadership Conference will focus on how and why leaders aim for unity, harmony, and synergy – at work, in personal matters, and in the larger community.

In 2024 we hosted an outstanding leadership conference where over 500 leaders from the Catawba Valley gathered to gain wisdom on the topic of “Life-giving Leadership”. We had the honor and privilege to have four phenomenal speakers from our community Kathy Bailey, CEO and President of UNC Health Blue Ridge, James Hamrick, Owner of JMW Woodwork, Allan Williams, Division Manager at Southern Dock Products and George Logan, Pastor at New Day Christian Church. The Foundation also awarded Joe Glass, Head football coach at Hickory High, The Leadership Impact Award!
