In partnership with area high schools, The Foundation invests in the lives of high school juniors and seniors to help them clarify their identity, the people they need around them to be the most successful, and the career path they want to take in life. The Strong Student Leadership program will kick off the fall semester on September 5th.
Through weekly training sessions and mentoring relationships, each student bolsters his or her sense of self and develops the foundation necessary to live well now and to lead well in the future.
Currently, we are developing and cultivating strong leadership within 380+ students in the Catawba Valley area. We work with Newton-Conover, Hickory, HCAM, Maiden, Fred T. Foard, Alexander Central, South Caldwell, and Bunker Hill high schools. We are looking to expand this program into Burke county in 2024.
We offer this program free of charge to the students and school systems. We are able to to that through businesses in the community that sponsor each school.
